Janice L. Goldberg - Artistic Co-Director
Janice L. Goldberg (Artistic Co-Director, Director, Playwright) has directed over 75 new plays in New York's Off Broadway and Independent venues, as well as across the country. For Artistic New Directions, she directed (associate) Flyovers by Jeffrey Sweet, working with Sandy Shinner of Victory Gardens in Chicago and featuring Richard Kind and Michele Pawk. Also: That Dorothy Parker for The Algonquin Theatre and at the Soho Playhouse for FringeNYC. That Dorothy Parker was one of twelve plays selected from over 200 for the Fringe Encore Series. That Dorothy Parker also took home honors for directing and acting from Talkingbroadway.com, BroadwayWorld.com and Offoffoff.com. Rose Colored Glass (with Anita Keal), which Janice co-wrote with Susan Bigelow and is published by Samuel French, Inc., received its Off Broadway premiere at Theatre 54 in NYC and was named as a 2009 and 2010 selection for the NEA's Big Read Program in California and Maryland. Also for Artistic New Directions, Janice directed the premiere of Carol Hall's (Best Little Whorehouse...) The River Jordan Lamp.

Janice has co-authored five plays with Susan Bigelow and has directed each at Plays-in-Progress in Eureka, CA as well as Autumn Run for CAP21's Blackjacks Festival.

She is a recipient of a Pilgrim Project Grant, a Writer/Director Residency at the Dorset Writers' Colony, VT and has been honored for her work at NYU, and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. She has been a guest artist/director at Johns Hopkins, Humboldt State, College of the Redwoods, Tisch School of the Arts, SUNY Brockport, and CAP21, NYU. She wrote and directed an industrial for M&M*MARS and is a founding member of the First Look Theatre Company for NYU's Dramatic Writing Program, a member of Circle East (Circle Rep), SSDC and the Dramatist's Guild.

Janice holds degrees from University of Maryland and Salisbury State University. She studied under the legendary Leland Starnes from Yale University. She leads her Nail-the-Job workshops in Cold Readings and Auditions for students all over the country. She is also a licensed New York City tour guid.
